Heyyyyy

So first off, Deanna is getting spoiled with a Nexus 7?! I can honestly say... I am jealous. haha. I am glad to hear that Christmas went all as planned. I had loved talking with you guys the other day and I had a pretty good Christmas week myself. Lots of great things happened and fun surprises.

First your questions. I tried making the MT dew mix and it was really good. The elders here, especially Americans, loved it. haha. It had been forever since we have drank it. But it isn't the SAME as Mt dew, but really close I would say. I really enjoyed it and I would really enjoy some real Mt dew when I get home :) haha.

I am super jealous of your guy´s Christmas. I miss the whole family aspect of Christmas and can't wait to have it again. I did have a really great surprise this week though as the best present I could have asked for. We worked the entire week. Every day we worked and it was frustrating that no one wanted to really answer the door or anything but at our Christmas party with Neia (boys mom we had baptized) we met a family of 4. It was her sister and we got talking to her about the gospel and taught her. We had no one even in mind to baptize this whole week and one that seemed like just the worst let down when that happens. But as the week went on, we got teaching this family and helping when they just yesterday, asked to be baptized with her 3 kids. I was super excited to be a part of that. Also on Saturday the lady that went to church hadn't drank coffee either, which we thought would be impossible for her, and she got baptized. What better present for Christmas then 5 baptisms. I was very happy last night going to bed thinking about the week that had just passed by.

After I had talked to you guys and made fun of my mom a little bit for looking at me like I was a zoo animal (haha)  I went on a division with the elders in Centro. (the ones that you talked with in the office). A really cool experience happened there this week that I would like to share with you guys. We were walking on the roads, the day after Christmas looking for someone to teach. There was literally no one on the streets there. We were pretty frustrated too cuz it was pouring down rain and we just decided to keep on looking. We continued walking and as we were passing in front of a hair place a guy, about 22 yrs old, walked out and we began to talk to him as he was walking toward his house. We walked with him and he wanted us to stop by his house. We taught him and after when he said the prayer he said something that normally I don't realize or at least recognize often. He said the following... Thank you for sending Jesus Christ to my home today in this moment when I was most needed it. Right as he said that, me and the other elder were shocked. This guy had fully realized that we were representatives of Jesus Christ and saw us to be the literal Jesus Christ. Sometimes I even forget who I am a representative of. It was an honor to have someone recognize me as that and I need to remember all the time who I am representing here. Jesus Christ is still spreading his gospel to all those who need it.

Have a happy new year and make lots of goals to do better than the last year. I will be making my goals this week for how I want to change and what I would like to do ahead in my life. I love you guys!

Feliz Natal para todos! (Merry Christmas to all!)

This week was a pretty great one. Another week passed by and as always, the difficulties came. haha. They always come... But anyways, I really enjoyed my week. First, this week we had an awesome conference here for Christmas. We got all the missionaries in Paraná just to have a little get together. Sister Genaro threw a huge party for us and even bought presents for us. I was so happy to see everyone one more time before heading out too. That will be the last time. It was really fun though.

So this week I had a few crazy and awesome things happen. Those 2 young boys that we baptized a few weeks back, they received the Aaronic priesthood and passed the sacrament. I have never seen a kid beaming as much as I saw those two, walking around giving the sacrament to everyone. They felt so important and are so excited to go to church now just so they can be a part of it. Even their mom (who goes every week still) was a little emotional seeing that.

I got to see two literally miracles this week. One saving my day and the other one probably saving my life. These experiences are really eye opening to me. Well the other day we had been asked to go to the bus station to receive the new missionaries. We visited a few people in our area and then went to our house to eat really quick. I haven't been feeling well recently which did not help at all. Never does... haha. We needed to be at the bus station at 2 and it takes at least an hour to get there most of the time. We left at 1 to grab a bus that was supposed to pass at 1:10 (that was on the city list). We got there and the bus flew right passed us right before we got to the stop. The next bus would have passed by at about 140 which wouldn't have given much time. But even waving at the guy, he didn't stop. There was one more stop and then there was one after 2 blocks below. We RAN after that bus. But it wasn't until I got on the bus that I realized why the guy didn't stop. I saw the purpose of why this guy didn't stop. The bus passed the stop that we were almost at, then at the next stop, a guy pulled out a gun and held up the guy in the front to give all the money the bus had. He then got off, and ran with the money and THEN the bus picked us up at the next stop. What would have happened with us if we were getting on in that very moment, paying. I can only imagine. We would have been the only people in the front part of the bus. All I know is that there was a purpose that the bus driver didn't even look at us waving him down.

The second thing that happened was Sunday morning. As always, we go out really early to look for people who are going to church with us. We headed out 7:15 and got to our area at about 8. We got there, knocked on the first door of a family of 3... They didn't want to go anymore. Said they had other plans and couldn't make it this week. The next family, no one answered. We knocked and knocked and no one came. We even went to other houses trying to get someone to come to church with us. NO ONE WANTED TO. I was super upset. In that moment, I was just feeling let down because I had been asking and asking for someone, anyone to go to church with us. I said a quick prayer and out of nowhere, a lady showed up that said she absolutely would never go to church because she doesn't like leaving that house. We were about 6 roads away from where her house is. We asked her where she was off to. She said, ´´church!´´ Super excited. My comp then asked, ´´what church? ,and then said another churches name being a smart allic. She said, no the church of Jesus Christ I am going to right now. Then my comp again..... ´´You don't even know where it is.´´ Then she said something that I wasn't expecting... ´´I woke up at 6 in the morning, to be ready by 7 just so I could find where you guys were to show me where this church is. I am going!´´ I am super happy that prayers are truly answered. Maybe it wasn't the 10 people we had planned on coming, but this one lady made my day.

God does look over us, and knows our desires and needs. I felt like that was what I needed in that exact moment to stay happy and to keep my faith that I was trying SO HARD to show. I am very grateful for that moment, and for these wonderful experiences I am able to witness here. The church is true, and every day, I know it more and more.

One More Transfer..

We made terere this week with a bunch of our investigators.
Already has passed one more transfer. This time flies by when it comes to transfers. Looks like I will be staying here in this area to finish the mission up. I am glad to stay to not have to pack up AGAIN. haha. The worst thing a missionary has to do is to pack up and move to a new house. haha. but anyways, I will be staying here in Ouro Branco.

This week was a pretty rough one.. It's pretty tough the last week of the transfer. Don't know what it is but everyone gets super down with the work the last week. We had a baptism for this week super awesome that we had planned since last Sunday. He was super excited to get baptized and so were his parents. He is 22 years old and wanted to change his life and stop doing the things he was doing. He stopped drinking coffee and other drinks and was ready to get baptized. When we went to go get him for the interview we got there with everyone super depressed in the house... He has a girlfriend in another city who cheated on him and he got up and moved that day, the day of his baptism. I got super upset... Not a single baptism is easy here to have. Satan works more and more when we work more and more. It's crazy how he works too. Always tries these people in various ways. I had to remember how people are tried. Satan works because he knows what they are trying to do is against what he wants.

With the baptism falling through we helped the other elders in our area who had a possibility to baptize and taught him. He just decided out of nowhere he wanted to get baptized and told us about the experience he had had that week and the answer he received. No one... NO ONE here on the mission that I have taught has received the answer the same way. It's the coolest thing. Everyone has a different way to receive their answer depending on what God has in store for them and how they recognize it is up to them. It's really cool though. We also had to go to another city yesterday in the middle of sacrament meeting... It was really frustrating. Imagine how I was after church HUNGRY and annoyed... Yeah it only gets worse when I am tired too. We didn't get to eat until 4 o clock that afternoon. I got really sick too. Yeah wasn't too pleasant. haha.

When we were there yesterday it was really funny. We were riding in a super old car in the back. Imagine 4 missionaries in a car with horrible suspension... They have bumps everywhere here in Brasil and this bump in particular was really tall. We went over and the car, being so low, stopped like a teeter totter (don't know how to spell that) on top of the bump. It was super funny actually. We had to jump to let the wheel grab the ground so we could move. It was super funny.

I am looking forward to talking with you guys. I am thinking it will be about 5 o clock here. So about 11 there. Would that be okay with you guys? We have some other stuff we will be doing during the day I think. A family also wants to go and be able to meet you guys. I will just have to translate for you guys. haha. It is a really awesome family though.

I love you guys. Take care please!
This week will be better!

Lots of running around!

Yep a lot of running around as always. It's the life of a missionary. haha. But I am happier than ever and the more time I am here, the happier I feel. This week was a pretty good one. We did a lot of divisions and moved around to other areas a lot which was crazy. But first I will answer your questions...

First I am really happy that Connor knows that I am the best and put my pic on the top of the tree ;) the others in the fam just don't understand... haha. But here in Brasil they have a lot of people that put up trees, hang lights and also have lots of traditions. Here the traditions are BBQ´s, pão de alho (like cheesy garlic bread), panatoni (which is like a cakeish thing with different flavors) and stuff like that with the regular foods they normally eat. its super good though and am looking forward to eating well on Christmas again :) haha. But not everyone buys lights and trees unfortunately... Its spendy here.

For my Happy birthday Elder Millett was missing 2 letters... haha. But I put it in my house after my bday. I have just been so busy haha. But I liked the creativity of the letters. I will take a pic this week though. It turned out really cool!

I am planning on buying before I come home a few foods you can try like Maracujá, different juice packets of fruits we dont have, tererê, and stuff that I cant buy in the states to take home. I should be fine with the money I have though. I have already bought stuff for almost everyone in the fam and even something for Dantzel that matt is just gonna love ;) hahahaha. I was thinking it would be fun to buy something for the twins too. Like Matching Brasil shirts for the World Cup :) haha.

But anyways, some fun stories from the week...
1. Me and Elder Ricks here went to the store the other day while we were walking in the area because I had meat between my teeth that wouldn't come out. Super annoying! I went to go look for toothpicks to buy cuz they are super cheap. We looked, not kidding, in the entire store and we didn't find ANY!!! We looked everywhere that we thought it would be. Finally we just decided to ask. Yeah you guessed where it might be! The guy led us there and it was between the light bulbs and the shampoo.... We just died laughing! We looked literally everywhere! Where would you guys put them in a store?

2.We had dinner at a members house the other night and we sat down to eat. We ate and after, my comp put his elbows on the table relaxing. He just started doing a crazy dance cuz on his wrist had a huge cockroach! It was huge!!! Those things literally appear out of nowhere!

I had a lot of great experiences that I will remember forever. I went to go help some other elders that are having problem with baptizing here in the area and just went to do a division. We got there and they had like nothing planned. We got to a house and it was a less active that had just had her son pass away in an accident. It was crazy the story but it was a really cool story she had. We started teaching them and it's the craziest thing when you teach about the plan of salvation when someone has already passed on. You can literally feel their presence in the room, and sometimes even see. These are just experiences that don't have words to explain. But it strengthens my testimony every time. We also had the chance, and baptized, one of the daughters that lived there. It was a really great experience and I, as always, learned a ton and had my eyes opened, yet another time.

I am off though! Gonna go out to Centro with one of the members from Centro Civico (the one that the first time I talked with you guys was in his house Gustavo). I am super excited to see them.

But I love you all a ton and thank you so much for the support you guys give me! Take care!

This week...

Flew by! It was a great week though. I actually really enjoyed this week for a lot of reasons. We had success, lots of failure as normal. It's how every week goes. haha. But this week we had a special opportunity to hear from Presidente Claudinei Costa. He is an awesome guy. And when I say awesome, I mean AWESOME. He just has something about him that I just want. It's really awesome. He is the Brasil area president. So it was on Wednesday at night we had all the missionaries from every part of the mission come to Londrina and Apucarana to wait for the next day. You could imagine how crazy that probably was for us huh??? haha. We had 12 missionaries in our house, including Elder Gutemberg that says hello! He is going home in 2 weeks already! But anyways, we left at 5:30 in the morning to go downtown where the meeting was and waited for a good 2 hours. We had a meeting with all the leaders from Brasil then started the meeting with everyone. I learned a LOT of stuff that I wanted to share with you guys.

One of the topics of discussion was ´´what is the point of missionaries´´. I loved what he said. Normally the missionaries would say something like, to baptize them, or help them receive the gospel. He, on the other hand started telling and talking about how baptism wasn't the most important thing. But our purpose as missionaries is to help people ´´make covenants in the temple, which are the covenants most important that we can make.´´ The goal really is to help those people make it to the temple. Lots of people get baptized and never make it to the temple. That is the goal we have and have to imagine these people on how their life will be so much better and them so much happier with eternal marriage and a eternal family. It's the happiness we have and don't realize it sometimes. haha He also talked about our missions and talked about our mission as something we will use for the rest of our lives. On the mission we learn everything we need to make it through this life and do the things we need to do. He advised us to make goals and to make these goals become what we really are doing. I am now in the process of making lots of goals now. haha

Weird story... so the other night I just had a super weird night. Knowing that we sleep outside and all, I woke up a lot of times to motorcycles passing by (that are super loud) or just people yelling. It was just a horrible night of sleep. I woke up that morning dead tired, looked over to my right and there was a little snake all curled up. Scared the CRAP out of me! haha. But what I also saw was weird too... A cockroaches leg and also a Giant beetle, about the size of a computer mouse, attached to the bottom of my mattress. It was really weird... I just laugh (and Deanna will kill me...) because when I have these situations I think, what would Deanna have done??? hahahah.

My legs, unfortunately, are still hurting... But, I did have a really cool thing happen this week. It was a really cool thing that I got talking to one of the missionaries here in my house about. We walk and walk and walk... But I got thinking, there is almost no possible way that a normal person could walk as much as we do, and in this heat. It's the hardest thing I have ever done in my life everyday walking and walking even MORE. But walking the other day, I felt the desire to just stop and sit down for a bit, but we were late for an appointment. While I was walking, my body said to stop, but I just tried telling myself to continue forward. With a prayer to just give me the energy I needed, it was answered, really fast. I didn't feel more energy, I didn't have a boost of excitement, nothing like that. But I don't know if I can even put this in words correctly. I literally felt as if someone was pushing me along, helping me keep up the pace. I literally believe, that there are angels that push us along as missionaries, and also watching over us 24/7. It was the weirdest thing but I know He answers any need that we have, and mine for sure in that moment of need and weakness, mine was answered. I made it through that day, very tired and body just torn up, but still came home happy, and feeling accomplished. I am so very grateful I have this calling. I love this work, and know this is the true church. We learned this week from Pres Costa we can do anything with FAITH. We don't always look at faith as a big thing, but it can change everything.

I love you guys and hope all is well!

Jello Legs

Yeah the title of this email is exactly how my legs feel... I walked a TON this week and don't know how my legs are still working in all honesty. haha. But yesterday for real I was walking and almost fell on the ground and it was horrible. I feel weaker every week. haha. But all in all was a pretty chill week...

First, yes that was me that took some money out. I didn't know if my old card worked or not and REALLY needed money. I was super broke last week.

This week though, we got home at 9 the day before my birthday. I thought it was a little odd when someone knocked at our front door because we know like no one and normally the members don't ever stop by. There was a guy at the door with 12 pizzas. 12 PIZZAS! I was so stoked and hungry also. haha. This guy was an investigator that was taught a long time ago and owns a pizzeria. I was super happy and we ate pizza for a good 3 days... That was enough of a birthday present for me. haha.

For my birthday I sat on a bus the ENTIRE DAY. I had to go do a few interviews with Elder Ricks in another city. It took 6 hours (waiting for the busses and stuff cuz it was a holiday here, basically anti-racist day). But I didn't have any money and didn't know if my card still worked or not and stopped by the ATM and grabbed some money and was super happy to see it still worked. We celebrated by buying the best Juice you will ever drink! Its super good. I was happy with that and also had a bunch of people sing to me. Even one of my investigators called me wishing me a happy birthday when I didn't stop by. She got me a cake the next day. I consider her my mom here in the area. She said to me ´´don't let your mom get jealous, but I am your step mom until you are home!´´ haha. She is a super sweet lady.

We had 2 baptisms this week and it was great. We have been teaching them for 2 weeks only but they are an awesome family. The parents can't get baptized yet because they need to get married first but the kids got baptized. It was a great service and really funny too. The dad yesterday was really upset about something and in the middle of sac meeting he went to the bar and got drunk so it made for an interesting baptism later... haha. But I loved what one of the boys said... He told his mom when he was right next to us, ´´mom I want to be an Elder, would you let me be an Elder?´´ That just made my day. He is already going to start leaving with us to help us teach and everything and learn some stuff. It makes me happy knowing that through helping 1 person I will be helping hundreds of others in another part of the world.

It was a great week all in all and am super happy to be able to serve here in Londrina again. I am really enjoying it here! Got another busy week ahead of me. I love you guys and will talk to ya next week!

Another week!

Excited about the rain...not!
So first of all you are going to kill me... I forgot my camera at home today and won't have pictures for ya this week... SORRY! haha. But anyways, I am in my new area here and am liking it a lot. I am in my first area right now (Centro Civico) using the LAN house because our area doesn't have computers... Super annoying. haha. But the area here is a really big area. My comp is Elder Espinoza from Rio de Janeiro. He is a really chill guy and we work really well together it seems like. I am going to like it here. We live in a HUGE HOUSE too. It's got 4 bathrooms, 5 rooms, a huge kitchen and a huge area out in front of the house. We actually sleep out front of the house because it is a lot cooler outside. It's REALLY getting hot here and I am super glad to not have to use a backpack anymore. I am just carrying around a scripture bag now. So much better.

Got to know the members here and the area pretty well. Me and my comp are both new here, so it's not super easy to know where the members live or anything. Super tough. I traveled for 8 hours until I got into Londrina at 10 o clock on Tuesday night. I hate the bus... I am ready to get out of the habit of taking the bus everywhere... lol. I miss taking my car to where I need to go... But after that we just got working and we worked a ton. We work on the side of a MOUNTAIN! I am not kidding... It is super steep the hill. I will be super ´´buff´´ getting home now. haha.

Funny story this week. We were in the sisters area here helping them for a bit and as we were waiting we decided to do some contacts with people on the street. There is a big avenue near where we were and you are able to see it about 100 feet in front of us. As we were there doing contacts a car came whizzing by passing us. A lady yelled out of her car... ´´Mormons!!! We love you!!!´´. It made me laugh really hard actually and it was okay until the lady blew us a kiss. I am going to be super awkward getting home with girls. Now I see why the elders are always super awkward... haha

We also this Sunday got woken up to the rain soaking us at 6 o clock. We sleep outside and it didn't really work out to stay cuz the rain was coming down really hard. We got up and the day started. I HATE Sundays here on the mission. I will be completely honest. Walking in the morning without much energy having to wake up investigators to go to church. We started our journey to our area with it POURING DOWN RAIN! My umbrella broke and so did my comps, but we just went. It was good. I got soaked from head to toe for 50 minutes walking in the rain. The whole time I was thinking, ´´I would never do this if I wasn't on the mission.´´ We got there, soaking wet to pick up the family we had marked with and to my surprise everyone was already ready. The mom looked at us and said she was a little hesitant in going but saw us soaking wet and said ´´now I know this is really important for you guys to have walked in the rain just to come get us. Let's go guys!´´ Wow that really made my day. I really wouldn't do a lot of things that I do unless I was on the mission. It's crazy. But really what we have means a lot to me and means even more to me being able to share it with lots of people.

Another week passed and doesn't even feel like my birthday is this week. These weeks are passing by super fast and I can't believe it. I love you guys though and thank you so much for all the birthday mail! Don't worry about the package mom. It will get here and I will be happy whenever it gets here.

Take care!

Not sure...

What is exactly going on with all the transfers here... We haven't received the emails to know if we are going or not, but Elder Demille (one that is going home tomorrow) told me I will be going to Londrina! It will be pretty cool to end the mission real close to where I started. I will be going to Ouro Branco it sounds like. Nice and close to the President. haha.

But I am pretty excited to have some changes here. It's been pretty tough these last few weeks and has been really discouraging... But it always gets better as things move. This week we ran around a lot. We had missed a bus that we really needed to take and ended up walking 7 miles (about) to a house that we received the reference from the church. Ref´s from the church are 24 hours and you have to contact it as quick as possible. We walked and walked and WALKED and I was dying from the heat. When we got there, no one was home... Yeah even more discouraging. haha. We talked with a few people on the way too to make the trip a little bit easier also. That was a highlight of my Saturday... haha.

But anyways, this week... We taught quite a few people this week. We got to know a lot of people but no one really wanted anything with anything. The people accepted us pretty well but in the end didn't want anything. I even told my comp during the day, ´´Woah, this has been the first day in a long time that no one has rejected us rudely, but politely instead´´. haha. It made me laugh. It normally doesn't happen that way. Normally the people want to argue with us or tell us how stupid we are for believing in the stuff we believe... haha. It made me really grateful.

Last night we went to Uderleis house to learn how to make a Macaroni soup. Yeah you guys will love it. I will try and do it as well as he did it, but seriously the BEST I have ever eaten in my life, no joke. I love that family seriously and am so glad I got to meet them and teach them. Stake conf is in 2 weeks here that I will not be able to see sadly, but he will be receiving the Melchizedek Priesthood. It makes me so excited. I just feel that if even a few of the people that I have baptized stay firm and receive the further ordinances, I will be very happy and feel like these 2 years were all worth it.

Every week is a testimony builder for me with little things. I even today got reading my journal entries from a year ago and wow... I have changed a TON. I didn't realize until I got reading those entries in my journal. It is crazy, but at least I can see now that the mission really has changed me.

Gotta get going though. I got to pack and tomorrow early in the morning I will be off traveling!

I love you guys!

Oi de Cascavel! (Hi Cascavel!)

Another week flown by and feels like we got nothing done this week. This week was another stressful week and sometimes just makes me want to give up. You know that feeling. But we kept working until the end as normal. This week got really frustrated and it was just one of those weeks. The first two days of the week we spent trying to find new people but with over 100 doors knocked, 1 person let us in... You could imagine my frustration. It was one of those kind of weeks. We got to the end of the week with only very few people wanting to go to church, and no one went. We did get to church however, with 9 people that the members brought to introduce to the church. I was SUPER relieved! Its super frustrating having no one from our group we were teaching go, but there is always next week.

I have been doing a lot of thinking these past few weeks about how I can use these last few months to better my life. I got to reading my blessing and found it very interesting... It's just a crazy thing when you read your blessing and nothing really makes sense to you in that moment, but when it had passed or come to that time when I needed it, I understood. It was the first time I had read my blessing in 3 months I admit... I got reading a part that really touched me in that moment. I got reading about the importance of the priesthood, giving blessings and whatever other ordinances are included. These ordinances have been blessings in my life many many times as to have remembered many feelings that I have had when receiving a blessing from dad or other priesthood holders. It is a great feeling. I have had the chance to give many blessings these past few months and it has been a huge blessing to me. I got thinking about how much it has changed me as a person and how it has blessed me in many aspects that I can now see. The priesthood is a wonderful thing that we are so lucky to have today in this world with so many problems. My advice, from learning, is to use it whenever prompted to use it, and the blessings don't have an end. It is the truth.

I also got thinking about how it will be so tough to give a blessing in English again.... haha. English will be really tough for me to ´´relearn...´´

This week was a pretty normal one. Not much happened and I am just trying my best working a ton. It's been really hot here and I am in for a HOT summer this year. It's already hotter than it was last year in the Middle of summer... Its only SPRING right now. haha. We will see if it really will get worse or not... haha.

But thanks for sending off that package. I hope I won't need to use my card anytime soon. It's good to know. We have transfers next week so maybe it will get there in time... who knows!

Have a great week everyone!

Hellllooooo!

Yep, so today is 100 more days then I will be home. Thanks for getting me trunky mom... haha. jk. It's fun to have something to look forward to. This week had lots of ups and downs, but mostly ups this week which was great.

So Tuesday to start off my week, I got my ´´trunky phone call´´. They call and ask you which airport you would like to land at. I told them I wanted to see New York so I hope that isn't a problem. I will be home a week after my release date.... Haha jk. I just wanna see what mom would say to that. haha. But I told him Seattle and this week here I will be receiving my ticket and everything already purchased. Super crazy.... It left me thinking about home that entire day. I got super crazy that day. lol.

That day was REALLY HOT. Normally its hot during the day then it's all good at night. But it got super humid this last week and I tried to sleep. Let's just say I woke up in a pool of sweat because I sweated so much. I drank about 2 liters of water that night and didn't sleep at all. My comp was up the entire night too. It just was super hard to sleep and I hated it... I had a fan turned on pointed at me and everything. Let's see if I will be able to make it through this summer here. YIKES it gets hot here.

So knowing that I don't have much time, and my companion wants to lose weight, we started working out. It's been a good year since the last time I ran. I was super sore after that. I have been trying to be as diligent as possible this week in working out lots and keeping my comp motivated also. Super tough when he doesn't even want to get out of his bed... It's all good though. I plan on coming back home being able to play a sport and not COMPLETELY die... ya know?

Rudinei and Kamyla got baptized this week!!!! I was SUPER STUNNED with what had happened this week. I prayed and prayed for their baptism to be this week but he hadn't received an answer yet. But we went there the other night to make maple for them (which they loved) and while Emanoel was finishing up the pancakes, we finished up by teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to them. We taught the whole thing, my comp bore his testimony, then I did too. I started to ask him about how his questioning about the Book of Mormon was going and everything and he said the following...

´´I have been reading the Book of Mormon a lot, and the other day I locked myself in my room, alone, to have a serious talk with God to know if these things are true. I asked for him to bless me in my life, my family, work and all the other things (he) has going on.´´ He continued by saying the following which made my heart just sink as he was joking with us... ´´I got fired today. I have been working at my job for 13 years and never anything had happened before. My boss was basically joking with me when he fired me but called me into his office to talk. I got a HUGE raise, and a promotion. While talking with my boss I knew it was the lord blessing me and knew that this Church, was the true church and this is where he wanted me to be.´´

I was SPEECHLESS... He opened up super easily and he recognized that it was a blessing in his life that was from God. 13 years and never received any recognition for nothing or a raise, then out of nowhere he got a huge promotion. This strengthened my testimony one more time. He then accepted the date for this Sunday, which moved to Saturday night and got baptized. The next day, we had a huge surprise for us. There is a family in our ward that the whole family goes, except the dad of the family. Rudinei is a friend of his for a long time. When he heard that Rudinei got baptized he woke up that morning, and in the first time in years, went to church. Rudinei went wearing a white shirt and tie. Everyone was talking about them and super happy to have one more family in the ward that were just such great people. We also had the highest number of people at church this last week than ever. It was just a great meeting all in all.

They received the holy ghost yesterday and the bishop did it, with me and my comp helping. In that moment when the bishop was giving the blessing, it was an experience that I will never forget. He put his hands on her head and began that prayer. The moment he got to saying stuff about the temple, and then stopped for a moment. He began to cry, along with me and my comp because we felt something completely different in that moment that I can't even begin to explain to you guys. But it is my testimony that something else was there in that room with us. We all felt it in that moment, and it is a feeling that I will never forget. All I have to say about it is, this is the true church.

I love you all!

Hey world!

Picture of the missionaries here in Foz and Cascavel

Me and my comp from Argentina.
This week... FLEW BY!!! haha. it was an okay week and I am just happy to have a day to rest. Being super tired 24/7 isn't super fun all the time at least. haha. But wow, those pictures of Connor and Dallen. They look super different and it is super weird seeing the house super different too. haha. I will be super weirded out going home I bet. It looks really nice though!

So first off, the things that I need...
I would really like body powder. Gold bond is a must! Don't know if I will make it through one more summer here without it. haha. I am in dire need.  Socks, shoes, pants, shirts NO NEED more. I have plenty now. Everything on clothes is AOK.  I really think whatever you send me I will survive with it. Any fun things you want to put in the box I will be happy.

This week started out great. After our pday we went to Foz do Iguaçu again for our meeting with the Prez. It was really a good meeting and that man is really inspired. Mission presidents really know what we need to hear and it is really crazy. I heard a lot of stuff that I really needed to hear and to be more and more excited about the work. We left at 4 in the morning and didn't get home til 10 o clock that night. It was fun though being in the van getting some time to sleep too. It is always good to sleep a little...  We came home and like always, there were tons of cockroaches. We knew it was time to do something about that. We cleaned the house really well and we sprayed everywhere in that house. We left and came home to over 50 dead cockroaches. Gotta love Brasil. haha. It was super funny. They would run and then flip over on their backs dead after 2 minutes. Very interesting too. We don't have any more ´´baratas´´ in our house anymore :) haha. It's a good feeling now.

So the bishop here is really happy with us. We have been working a lot better recently with him and he has been a lot happier with the work we are doing. Our goal, baptizing men to have more priesthood holders here in the ward. We are still working with these 3 families but something just doesn't let one of them go to church. Every week something comes up. It's really tough to get to church every week and people don't show up. Really frustrating... But nothing that we can do. A family went this week and they loved everything about the meeting. They are a young couple that are looking for a church and haven't found THE church he says. I know that will change. Keep them in your prayers if you could. They gospel will really bless their lives and they are really needing it.

This week, had a crazy different lesson that we taught. We taught a man, that was atheist. Normally when we teach people who don't believe in God they don't want to hear anything we have to say. But this man wanted to know for himself if He existed. It was really hard to teach... It got me thinking a lot. He is a very intelligent guy and is part of the Mason group here. He put out some very good points saying why he doesn't believe but we just began to talk. My comp didn't talk too much and left me to say everything. I got to the point where I literally had nothing to say but to bare my testimony. I think that has got to be one of the strongest testimony builders that I have ever had and the time where I most dug down to know exactly what I needed to say and how to say it. God lives because I have felt it. Everyone has felt it but maybe we forget sometimes. We need to always remember these truths that the Lord has given us. Remember Him all the time, and not only when you most need him. Through prayer and scripture study I know that we can KNOW the things we need to. I honestly almost felt like an idiot talking with this guy who has studied a ton and is very wealthy, but when I bore my testimony, he changed immediately. Bare your testimony always, and don't every forget you have one.

Take care and until this next week!

Thanks mom...

Fun to be remembered by your missionary!

haha. I speak horribly in English now. I do have an accent but it's all good. Just a little bit of time at home and it will be gone. I will have to speak Portuguese with you guys this time because I have learned a lot better now even. Its good not having to stress out with the language too much anymore... haha. I heard you asked Emanoel how I was speaking too.... haha. Don't trust me?! lol. jk. But I am glad you liked your video. I had gotten to Emanoels house to have him leave with us when we thought ´´let's do something for my mom!´´ haha. Elder Demille was there too with us and it was fun having an all American day. We practically only spoke in English that day.

So my companion... well me and Elder Anderson were doing alright but it was really weird, 6 o clock on Pday we got a call from the prez saying ´´Elder Anderson! You will be going to Marília tomorrow! Pack your bags!´´ It was nothing that happened and I was a little shocked... He was sad to go. But he left, and late that night my companion got there. He was on the bus for 15 hours that day and it must have been horrible traveling, alone too. It was a very different feeling he said. But my new companion is Elder Presa. He is a great guy. I think Emanoel doesn't like him just cuz he doesn't know him yet. But he is from Argentina and speaks Portuguese with a really strong accent from his Spanish. He speaks REALLY FAST also. haha. Everyone in his family are members and they seem like great people. I am also really excited because I will get to practice my Spanish now. It's fun trying to learn a new language now... again...

I had an alright week. Tuesday I was just really upset and I didn't know why. I just had one of those days ya know? But after that, that feeling went away and I just got working without any problems. It's tough having a new comp in a new area because I have to teach everything to him. Names of the members, where houses are, and investigators and everything. He is learning really fast though.

We also have been teaching 4 families. They had all marked to go to church with us... then the day came and NONE of them went. It's so frustrating to try and get these people to church. We had a few people there and it was unplanned but all in all, I am happy that Sunday ended really quick. Very stressful when people don't go.

We had a good drunk guy story this week... He followed us everywhere until we finally escaped when he entered into a store to say hi to his friends. haha. But he wanted us to teach him so I left a pamphlet with him and we were off. He got talking about how he was going to throw himself in front of a car just to make money and say it was the drivers fault. Its super sad to see these kinds of people and they really need all the help they can get. Seemed like he studied all the laws the way he got talking too. haha. Crazy people...

Really not too much happened this week. I am alive still but VERY worn out. All this time working with no breaks really tears me apart. Walking feels like the only thing we do sometimes. haha. But still happy as always, and won't get discouraged. Got lots of work to do here! Miss you guys like crazy!

Take care!

Hey guys!

Watching conference

Dad looks a lot like Quentin L Cook and thought I would take a pic haha

Suzy gave us a ton of food at conference

So this keyboard I am using sucks. And it doesn't even have a question mark that I can find on this dang thing... I hate these lan houses... haha. Anyways, first off, I really would like some ctr rings to give to some of the people we baptized last month. I think the two girls would love it. One is 7 and the other one is twelve, almost 13. I know she was commenting on it and I know would absolutely love that if you could maybe send one of those. Maple too! Tortillas I found here in the area! I got so happy. They are imported from Paraguay but are really good and not too spendy. I made breakfast burritos the other day and they were so freakin good. The best breakfast I think I have had in 1 year haha.

But this week was pretty chill...My comp got sick this week and had to go to the hospital that night. Me and Emanoel the whole time stayed in the waiting room waiting for him and it was really funny. We joked the entire time and it was good to just chat. Emanoel is a really good kid. Love him and I am glad you guys got to talk with him. Talk with some of his family too. Or just him. He sent me a text letting me know a little bit about the conversation. haha

But after the sick days, we got to work. Found some great people to teach and had some great experiences. First, the first time Elder Anderson went to Melissa's and Jevenals house, we got there and had a wonderful lesson. We then set the table and they always ALWAYS feed us (which her food is SUPER good) and we sat down and said a prayer. My comp started drinking and then said excuse me really loud and ran as fast as he could to the bathroom with everyone look and just hurled nonstop. It was funny their reactions, but I know my comp was really embarrassed. First impression.

We got to watch all the sessions except priesthood that I think we are going to get a copy of it and watch it later. I was happy cuz Emanoal the second day brought his tv and computer from home to watch it in English. Super glad that all worked out. I can understand everything in Portuguese but I just hate that it is not their voices. It was a wonderful conference and I loved all the talks. They had some pretty strong quotes. I remember one that I loved with all the changes with marriage and other laws in the states, one of the 70 said.... ´´just because a law of the land has changed doesn't mean that it's not a sin anymore. Gods law is more important than mans law.´´ I loved it. It's so sad to see all these changes here and I am glad to know that the church has such a firm stance on all this stuff, and is not afraid to say anything about the matter.

So we pulled a pretty funny joke at Emanoels house this week. Maybe he already told you but... We went there for lunch the other day with Elder Anderson being the first time he has met them. We got there and I told him, JUST SPEAK PORTUGUESE! haha. He didn't know that the whole family spoke English. We started eating and then we just talked with each other for a while. Emanoel did something that ´´made me mad´´ and I started talking bad about him in English with Elder Anderson. They then began to yell for their mom saying that Elder Millett is talking bad about us I think in English!!! My comp got a little nervous and then she asked me... what did you say Elder Millett!!! I told her that I called him a good person basically... They then asked my companion and he didn't say anything but was super nervous still. haha. His face was so funny. Then Emanoel and his brother said in English finally, I know what that word means. My comp then says ´´wow you speak really well in English!´´ His face was super funny and they said elder.... we are basically American. haha. I was dying and I got a good kick out of it. It was super hard to not talk in English the whole time there. haha. Gotta have a little fun on the mission. haha.

So it was really weird waking up Sunday morning not having any people to go get to take to church early. We left our house at 11:30 after eating and we went to the center to go watch conference. On our way there a very interesting thing happened. I got on the bus, realized a few others from the ward were there, said hi, then sat down. The bus stopped a ton of times on the way to the church building. One stop in particular had a man, his wife, and his daughter leaving their church. They left directly from the church and got on the bus. I sat there observing and saw they are having tons of problems. The man didn't even want to sit by his wife. The daughter was upset about something else. The wife sat two chairs behind and plenty of other things that I realized along with the anger engraven expressions they had. I was a little sad seeing it and thought to myself... how could someone leave´ with their family from church and be so upset! It's simple... something I can realize is that I have something that they do not. I have the restored gospel. I have everything. That family looked like they had money and the things of the world, but were lacking this very important thing. I am just so very grateful to have what I have and to be able to share it with everyone. Just seeing how sad that family was make me think what I WOULD have if i did not have the gospel in my life. Where would I be... They talked a lot about missionary work and I enjoyed every single one of them. Knowing that my mission is coming closer and closer to an end, I think of how I can finish helping tons of people, but also when I return home to continue striving to talk with people about the Book of Mormon and the restored gospel. All these things I wonder a lot. Especially with what you said in your letter mom... If I will continue studying the scriptures daily even when I return home. I get super nervous about all this stuff. But I am trying my best to make it a habit now, so when I am home, I can continue doing all this stuff and I invite you guys to do the same. Make habits, but more importantly, make good habits because the small decisions we make daily, those decisions change our eternal happiness.

Another transfer gone by!

So another transfer has gone by. This transfer has brought some weird things too.... my companion is off to Maringá and my new companion.... well semi-new, Elder Anderson again that I trained. I will be staying here in my area which I am really happy about. There are some wonderful people we are going to baptize this week and I am super excited. Conference this next week especially gets me super excited for this week to pass by already. haha. I LOVE CONFERENCE!!!! Please don't miss any of them!

Anyways, a good week this week. We ended up baptizing on Saturday but there was a ton of confusion at the baptism with the bishop at that other church building. This lady yelled at me for not calling her about the baptism (never met the lady in my life) and then we baptized him. I was super excited to be there and you can just see a light radiating from the people that get baptized. It's one of the coolest things to see and such a change in people in that moment. It´s awesome.

Walking this week we had seen some pretty crazy things. One of these things... a flying dog. You ever seen a dog fly??? Yeah it was super sad. A car hit it right in front of us and he went flying. I felt so bad for the poor thing and a lady grabbed it from the road and threw it on the side of the road. Pretty sure it died, but not a 100 percent sure. My comp said right after, ´´seeing a dog die made me think how short this life is.´´ it made me giggle a little. haha. But super sad to see.

This week we were also walking when a popsicle man was driving by. This will just tell you how sensitive some people are to bad things here, or not... haha. Anyways, he was driving by and the words he said on the speaker thing was, ´´kids, kids, calling all kids! Get your popsicle here for only 1 real!´´ then they had music after that which was super funny.... came on with the music, ´´Beer! Beer! Gotta get a beer!'' It was super funny. I just got thinking.... poor kids! haha.

So thought of the week for you guys, when we were in gospel principles this week. We have an awesome teacher in that class and during the lesson when she was teaching, she started to talk about our thoughts. She compared it to a bird and I thought it was really clever. She said, ´´we can´t exactly choose if a bird is going to land on our head or not. It will land and then it will leave. But what we can chose is if it will make a nest on our head or not. With our thoughts, maybe the bad thought will cross our minds, But what we can choose to let it make its home there and stay, or to shew it away.´´ I thought it was a great example to have. It makes me think though, its super easy to have certain thoughts in our minds when no one is watching, but if we don't choose to shew it away, it will stay and Satan has more power over us.

I am excited for this next week. Conference and all! I wanna hear from everyone their favorite parts! Especially Connor! haha.   I love you guys and take care!!!

Heyyyy again!

Another week gone by and boy was it another crazy one. Life in Brasil just seems to be getting crazier and crazier every week. haha. But first off...

Went to the hospital on Monday night last week. I was REALLY bad when night came around and started throwing up again more and more. It wouldn't stop. So I got a ride and went there just to stay there until midnight. I got a few needles stuck in my arm and then felt a lot better leaving there but still wasn't 100%. But things started getting better. I didn't throw up after that but also I didn't feel too great. All the way til Thursday I felt HORRIBLE. haha. Life of a missionary. It just seems like there is never enough time to rest and to just feel better. It's tough. But I am all better now thank goodness! I hate hospitals too! Can't remember the last time I went there...

The week was pretty low-key with staying in the house on Tuesday (until the afternoon). I only stayed at home for a bit to rest and I just can't handle staying at home not working. It just kills me so we went out working at least for the afternoon part. We also got a lot of stuff done surprisingly too. We had 11 people at church this week and lots of success on Sunday. It was also stressful on Sunday with the way things went. We have been having lots of trouble in this area working with the bishop. It's just frustrating sometimes. Things will get better this week though.

Sunday night we had a fireside on the Book of Mormon, where we gave the training. It went really well too. We did a few activities and it turned out really well. They said they felt a spirit and I hope it helped at least someone. We are starting to do that giving a Book of Mormon away weekly, then another gives the responsibility to another member the next week. It will really help!

This week two really strange things happened...

1. We were walking along and out of nowhere, the whole entire street was covered in what looked to be dust, and it was headed directly at us. I didn't think much of it but as it got closer, it was a swarm of bees, thousand of bees actually. It was so random to see! We ran and I only got stung one time on my hand, and boy did it hurt. I was lucky though... that's for sure.

2. We entered into a store to buy a drink and something to eat when all of a sudden it started to rain really hard. It was 30 degrees cel and we didn't think nothing of it. Leaving though, we sat and ate under a covered area when we started to realize that it was hail falling the size of a quarter. It was super crazy and out of nowhere. Good thing we were under cover though or that would have SUCKED. haha.

All is well though. I am still happy and super happy to be feeling better. Yesterday with a really stressful day and really upset with everything that was happening got me asking that question... why am I here? Satan of course was trying but I got asking in my prayers at night about the problem with the bishop here and all. My answer was the following... Who are you serving, God? Or the Bishop? Its true though. Got thinking, am I serving God or some person? I gotta do them both at the same time, serving God by serving men. Super hard to explain and on top of that, my English is terrible now. haha. But so many lessons to be learned here on the mission!

I love you guys!
Take care and always do your best every day! Miss you guys like crazy!

Yayyyyyy

The rain storm is right over us, and a big bang just sounded from a super loud thunder storm that has been raining since 11 yesterday night. It's nice though because it was SUPER hot this week. Over a 100 F this week. It's just crazy how fast the weather can change here. Almost seems impossible what it does. But wow, what a week for me...

So first off, after Wednesday I just didn't feel very good with my stomach. I went the whole week super stressed out to which didn't help, but just felt like I wanted to throw up every single moment of everyday. I just sucked it up and we worked every day, every moment this week. It was good. Found lots of people to take to church, and lots of things we got done. But... Satan worked a lot this week. We marked the day of the baptism with Eunice and her daughter for this week and she was very excited. Came up to the last moment on Saturday night, 8 o clock when she said she doesn't think if its right for her. She said her brother was talking about how hard it would be for her to continue firm when she couldn't even stay firm in the church right next to her house. But, I know it's just something that will pass by, and we helped her understand why the church of Jesus Christ is different. It's crazy how Satan can work with just one tiny thing. We aren't giving up on her though. That's for sure. Saturday also, every one of the sisters Baptisms fell through. We had 6, just in our district, but all 6 of them fell through.... It was super sad. We had a really rough day that day, along with all the other people in our zone it seemed like. Just leaves more work for us this next week though. Gotta continue finding and baptizing. Sunday passed and we did pancakes with maple syrup for a family home evening, that I didn't eat because I wasn't feeling good. Got home, then couldn't stop throwing up... it was TERRIBLE! I got to bed early and slept really well. It was just annoying that I felt sick almost the entire week and finally threw up now. I still feel really sick but not sick enough to not write real quick to my family! haha. Never too sick.

So a funny story... actually a story that made me jump. haha. This week I was talking to one of the sisters seeing how her day was and was seated at my desk. I talked to the first companionship then to the next. I was looking at my pocket knife that I have and thought it was strange because in the case, there was 2 antennas that were wiggling out of it. I stood up to see what it was and it was a GIANT cockroach in  my knife case. It made me jump and I threw it on the ground and stomped it with my flip flops. haha. I hate those freakin things! I have so many stories with cockroaches now... I will have to bring one home as a present for someone ;) haha. jk.,

But I don't have much to say today because I am not feeling too well still. But, I hope all is well in the Millett home and miss you all a ton! Have a great week and enjoy a few good scones at the fair for me! And the elephant ears!

Ate Mais!'

ps. yes, the bbq was just to enjoy our p-day. not to celebrate anything special. But it was super good! I will do one when I am home!

Stages of my Mission

Heyyyyy

Lots of stuff you guys did this week! Tons of stuff to do makes time fly by. I also had a ton of stuff to do this week, as always... haha. But anyways, Connors first week of high school?! That kid is already in high school? You sure it's the same brother that I left??? haha. He was so short and now he looks so freakin tall. Either way, I will still be able to beat him up. haha. Jk.

Long week, that looking back on it looks to be really short. Like I said 2 weeks ago, we got a new Ward Mission Leader called and he is WONDERFUL. He is a returned missionary and his wife also, so they help us out a ton. We are trying to change how things are going here in the ward and we had a very important meeting on Saturday to settle lots of stuff. It was really good. We are starting to do a bunch of trainings with the ward to help them better learn how they can be missionaries. It will be a great experience for the members to learn a little bit more and I always hope they talk to their friends about the church. We always can use the help. These trainings that we have been giving is helping a LOT with my public speaking. This week we went to another city to an activity that they had to help with the missionary work there. They had people coming to see the church and they don't have missionaries in Toledo. Anyways, we went there thinking we would just talk to the new people and eat and teach them. But what happened, we got there, and with 50 people that I had never met in my life, the president asked me, "Could you give a 15 minute talk on the plan of salvation?"  I was nervous, because 50 new people talking in front of them not being prepared at all, pulled it off somehow... haha. I was very happy though and I feel like it is really helping with my public speaking a lot. We are also trying to get missionaries to that city here soon. Maybe in 3 weeks!!!

This week there was also a death here in the ward. An older woman died of her old age that had only been a member for 3 months. She was baptized a few weeks before I got here by Elder Do Vale. It was a really cool story because her whole family, minus one kid, is a member of the church. Even her husband before he died was a member and all that. A really touching story really. We went to her service and they leave the body out for everyone to see. I think that is really strange but whatever... but a story from that. It was really cool to see the members that were there. No one was crying, those of that family. But who was crying a ton was those who were not members and you could see a pain they had for death. I just find that really comforting that we know there is more after this life and how we can achieve it. Bishop Taso gave a really good talk and he testified of the truthfulness of the Book Of Mormon and it was awesome.

We went out this week with Emanoel and his brother Edson Filho. We did a little training with them and had them do lots of contacts and stuff. They did awesome and helped us out a TON with our work. We got over 50 address´ that day which helped out a TON! The work is progressing a ton here, and things are getting better and better here every week. I was super happy to have received so many letters again and I just loved the package too! Emanoel said thank you for a shirt. He uses it all the time. haha. But I love you guys. Thank you so much for the letters!

Well gotta get going here! We are going to do our own Churrasco at our house with the missionaries. I will get to learn how to do it and will be able to do one for you guys!!!

Take care

Mais Chuva!!!! (More Rain)

So it is pouring down rain today, which is always wonderful to have for pday. I am super glad it's today and not on a day of tons of work. haha. But anyways, this week flew by, AS ALWAYS! I don't remember weeks flying by so fast when I was at home, but they sure do fly by here. I think it is because we are always on a routine. This week was the week of "socks and white shirts". Yeah... so tons of my white shirts are just DONE FOR and my socks, this week only, ripped. Almost every single one of them ripped today. But anyways, I will be needing some more socks because only having 4 pairs won't fly... haha. Next package you already have ideas! haha. I am really excited for Wednesday when I will get my package... (if it's made it here yet which I hope!)

So this week was an interesting one... First of all, we were still without money. We got money yesterday finally. I hope they won't forget about us this next money transfer too. It's frustrating not being able to use the bus and do the things you need to do to survive here just cuz you don't have money. Really frustrating. But one day this week, we went to lunch. We got there and started talking with the lady and she said she had lunch all ready for us. We got there and it was less than a plate of lasagna... for 4 people... She didn't have rice, beans, nothing else. I was thinking, what are we going to do elder... the closest bank is in the center of the city and we don't have any money to buy any more food. We appreciated what we had gotten, but we left lunch hungrier than EVER. We planned on leaving with one of the young men in our ward that is super awesome and we told him about what had happened. It is so great to have members who are here to help because he told his mom and she made us some food. Probably the simplest food ever, but as I was eating I have never felt so grateful for fried eggs, a little rice and some beans. They literally saved our lives. Emanoel has been leaving with us lots to teach these past few weeks and he, and his family, are always helping us. I think it would be really fun to do something nice for them. They are the family that lived in the states for a good time. If you have any fun ideas that I could do or maybe even you guys could (because they love Reese's peanut butter cups and haven't had one in so long). They just really care about us and I feel like I should do something to help them also.

We had my companions birthday this week... so boy did I eat a lot this weekend. We had Pizza, Churrascos and lots of other stuff. We even bought pizza on the night of his bday and we sang to him. We had our district on the phone and they all sang too. It was really funny. This week also we have a bunch of members that are going to do a special meal for him, strogonof (Brasil style which is a ton better. You tried it right???) which is also my favorite food too. It worked out really well. haha. But there will be lots of cake and everything. It will be a good week for meals! haha. We also ended the week finding a wonderful partial family. A mother and her daughter that have been through tons of rough times and wanted to know which church is really true. These people are blessings in the lives of missionaries. haha. We were walking down the street and I was dying of thirst when I just decided to knock on her door because I needed water. She came out smiling SUPER big and just is an awesome lady. She gave us water (I drank a whole liter of water haha) and we talked about the church and everything and planned a visit with her when her daughter was home. They loved the message and went to church that next day. They fit right in at church too! I know they will receive an answer soon that the church is the true church. Keep them in your prayers if you could! Eunice and Daniely. They rarely have time when they are both home too which is really difficult. But everything will work out!

Off for one more week of work! I love you all and am super excited to maybe receive some letters this Thursday when they get here!

Take care and

It was a GREAT week...

One of the best weeks on the mission and that's a positive. Well, we still had some downs as always, but we had a lot more ups then anything this week. I was super glad. This week went really slow for us unfortunately.... We had the whole week to stress about if our investigators were drinking coffee or not... the worst part of the mission! haa. But anyways, during the week we invited one of our investigators to watch a baptism on Saturday to just watch. She, in the end, bore her testimony that she already had and asked us if she could be baptized this Sunday! Yep, it was awesome. Other elders taught her in Curitiba and she went to church tons of times, but in the end didn't ever want to be baptized. She made the decision this week and was baptized! It was such a great feeling.

This Saturday went WONDERFULLY WONDERFUL! First, we woke up super excited and went straight to the center of the city to go watch the wedding! It was a simple wedding in the place owned by the government and they just looked so happy though. They then insisted that we would go to a churrasco with them, and I didn't have a single problem with that at ALL! haha. We went and celebrated and it was just a ton of fun. Saturday we had only 2 hours to work. When we got home, we had to go back to the center and fill up the baptismal font, because our church building (or house) doesn't have a font. We were traveling all day. It was all good though. Everyone showed up and we had the baptism which was great. Lots of people were there and very excited and jealous that ´´our missionaries aren't baptizing families! Can we trade missionaries?´´ haha. It was funny. But everyone was just really excited. Especially Silvana (wife) who cried watching her husband get baptized and the first thing she said after was, ´´just one more year to wait now...´´ Why is that??? ´´We will be sealed in the temple in exactly one year from today´´. Wow... My mouth just dropped and I was SO happy that day. There is no better joy to a missionary then Baptisms.

The next day was the same thing pretty much. Went to church, had a great meeting and then we went to fill up the font again for Janaina because my companion was the last person to baptize and pulled the plug... haha. its all good though. We went there and I had some time to practice my piano so maybe I can play here for the ward one day. We had the baptism and everything went as planned. Janaina even brought her friends to the baptism. It was a very great experience to be a part of everything that happened this weekend.

This week, unfortunately, our president cut a lot of expenses... Yeah, we are broke now. We have no food at home basically and no money to ride the bus to the places we need to go. haha. It's been a tough week with that. But the members have been helping us out to keep full. Very grateful to have members that help so much.

I am just in a really good mood right now. The only thing is about baptisms, when you get done baptizing someone, you just think.... ´´now who's next?´´ haha. We got a lot of finding to do this week!

I love you all!

Heyyyy!

Getting some reading done... in the woods.

I was super happy to fly this kite... cant ya tell?

Found a swing in our area
Looks like I will be staying here in Cascavel! I am very happy with the news... Especially after last night. I was super nervous to get on the computer and to be transferred. Last night, we marked this Saturday to baptize a wonderful family! Its Uderlei, Silvana and Leticia! We have been teaching them this whole entire transfer and they will be getting married this week! On Saturday then baptized during the afternoon! I am really excited to be able to see the baptism and to be able to baptize also :) It is a wonderful family and they will make a wonderful addition to the ward here and be great leaders. Maybe him even a bishop one day... I could see it! haha. But the Lord has been giving me lots of trials recently. The last transfer was really tough for me seeing so many great possibilities and to not see any of those people get baptized. This week for instance... We had 2 people ready to be baptized, a girl 14 years old who loves the church, and another who we have been teaching for a while. We marked interviews with these two and Saturday morning we got the news that no longer either of them would be baptized. One the step dad came out and started to argue with us saying that we were not called of God and that our church is false. He got really offended that we say we are the only true church and he walked in and slammed the door after swearing at us... Yeah... It's a great feeling. That day was rough in all honesty, but Sunday got a lot better. I am really happy still!

We had other great things that happened. Melissa and her husband Juvenal (don't remember if I already told you about them) but we have been working with them recently. They both received answers and Melissa knows that the church will help them become closer and have a happier life. I am so glad that she realizes that. But we invited them to be baptized this week and he was for sure touched by the spirit in knowing that he needs to be, it was obvious. He had said yes, I will be baptized BUT I would like to repent of all my sins before I am baptized. He had before cheated on his wife, been kind of a drunk and did terrible things. But it is great to know that it is a genuine process he wants to take before the baptism. I am very excited for them and their family. Keep them in your prayers also please!

Speaking of that, this month is when Edinea will be going to the temple. It makes me super happy to know that. She told me the last time I saw her that she was so excited to go to the temple. She was just dying to go. Only a few more months and I will be able to hear from her. Only until after the mish. It's just great to see lots of these people change their lives.

I am very excited for this next week and to keep on working! I love this area and would like to finish my mission here. I really want to!

I love you so very much family! Take care and don't forget about me! haha.
Ate mais! Eu te amo tambem mãe!
