Probably my last letter home.....

I think this will probably be my last time writing you guys a real letter because next week I will be getting interviewed and taking my baggage across the city by bus at this time. But we will see... haha. But it is getting tougher and tougher to stay focused... Yesterday for instance was my farewell talk and I thought it went pretty well. I gave a talk for 20 minutes... and I don't even know how... haha. Before the mission I struggled to even get out 10 minutes in my talk and I always got super nervous. I am going to talk like an idiot this next week in my talk when I give it in English... Prepare yourselves...

But this week went really well. We worked a TON! I was really grateful for my comp who helped me a ton this week to work extra hard to stay distracted. We had interviews this week with prez and we talked about a ton of stuff, one being to prepare my companion to be Senior. He has been acting senior this whole week now which is also nice. haha. Me and the president talked about a lot of stuff that really got me thinking. I was really grateful for the counsel he gave me and I have already made a few goals for when I get home. I hope, and am thinking that that will help me out a lot.

We had some great people go to church this week, and then other people that cussed us out. haha. It was funny. The guy asked the elders, You think we want to answer the door if you have already knocked 5 times and no one answered?! The other elder responded, ´´we just knew you were lazy and knew it would take a little longer and would need some motivation to get here´´. haha. It was funny but the guy did not like it all too much. But it all went ok. The lady told us to come pick her up and her whole family and that nothing would stop them from going to church... We get there and they do that? Weird...

This was one of those weeks where I have been getting really sad. I just can't believe that this next week I will already be home and that I will be back to the normal life. I don't want to leave all this. I just am so happy for all the things that I have learned here and feel I could still learn so much more to add on to what I learned already. I just feel like a completely new person then when I left and looking at my first weeks in my journal, I wonder  how Christ could have trusted a kid like that be his representative. haha. But I know now because of the things that I have felt, seen, and heard that this is Christ´s church here on the earth. I know that only through Christ we can become clean from the sins of the world that are commonly seen as normal things in the world today. I just know that this was the best decision that I have made in my entire life and to feel the things I have felt and had gained such a strong testimony I am so thankful to have had this chance.

I will see you guys next week already and have a lot of things to do here still. I love you guys and am so thankful for all the support, little and big, that helped me make it through these 2 years.

Ate a semana que vem!  (Until next week)

Another week!!!

So I am on late again cuz I went out to go do my last bit of shopping before I head off home. I don't know how much time I will have this next week and the week after so I had to go out while Elder Simmons wanted to also. It was a lot of fun though. Chill day, ´´practicing our English´´ haha. But I bought some fun stuff though for the kids and something for dad.

But to answer your question... I am dying DYING to eat at Red Robin. I have never felt this much of a ´´want´´ to eat something as I have felt to eat those fries and drink a Mt. Dew. haha. I am addicted huh? I would like to go there. Who is all gonna be there at the airport? My last week you can send me all your plans of things I will be doing so I don't get too trunky before I leave... haha. I am STILL working mom! Don't you worry!

Last week when I was at home the entire time was really boring. Every kid wants to stay home from school and stuff like that... But on the mission you are just super bored at home. Can't play video games, watch tv/movies, none of that stuff you normally do. So me and my comp were creative. I slept a little bit too but it's really hard for me to sleep during the day.

This week flew by. The week started and then finished and I felt like I just didn't have time for anything. haha. We went to a nearby city this week and have been teaching a lot of people there. We even brought a lady from there that is going to probably be getting baptized this next week. She was so eager to go to church and is passing through some hard times. She went and accepted everything we invited her to do. We will be traveling a lot to this little city this week for sure.

This week had a very cool experience that I would like to tell you guys. A very spiritually draining experience too. This last week 2 elders asked me to do a baptismal interview for them for a guy who is 26 years old. They taught him very little in all honesty but I decided it would be good to do the interview to see if he was ready. It was the weirdest thing.. The whole interview he was just so excited to be baptized in the church and just wanted to get baptized asap(the next day). The whole interview on the other hand, I felt that something was wrong that was going on in the interview. I felt as if there was a problem of some kind that he was not telling me. I called president and asked him for advice then went back in. I got talking to him and decided, he is ready to be baptized from what he is telling me, so let's go ahead and baptize him. When I said that, something just changed in that room. I felt literally sick from what I was thinking and saying. That is when I began to change my mind and ask him some questions that I felt inspired to do. It was a crazy experience cuz the words were put into my mouth and one of those moments where I was not talking with my own words. I then, with that horrible feeling that something wasn´t right in that situation and then changed my answer telling him that he couldn't be baptized and I had no idea why. I was shocked that I even said that... But as I said that, I felt as if a huge weight had fallen from me and I just felt, well.... better. It was a crazy experience that really testified to me that the holy ghost talks with us... constantly. We just need to listen and to act. I am grateful for the Holy Ghost in my life and I don´t know how I would have been able to make it through these 2 years without a comforter in in my life. It's real. I promise.

The work is going great here and there won't be any slacking until I am heading home alright! haha. I love you guys and pray for you often.

Crazy Week!

So I know that you don't like those kinds of emails. haha. But I did figure out what the problem was. But let me tell you about my week first... haha.

On Monday I had to stay in the house after I got home from emailing and stuff to let the pain killers wear off so I wouldn't fall into the road or something and die. haha. Tuesday, I went to a normal day of work and we worked like crazy! It's been about 110 degrees again... so that time of the year is already here and ready to kill Elder Millett... I hate the heat and am so excited to be cold again for once in my life. I hear its super cold there too. haha. That is such a relief to hear that. Tuesday we had gone to another district here close to Londrina. We just decided it would be really good to teach people that had never heard even about the ´´Mormons´. haha. I got the feeling like it was a little Indian village and no one spoke the language or something... haha. It was just such a small town and I couldn't believe how small it really was. No one had heard about us before and they were super happy to accept us and hear our message. I was glad to be so accepted that day.

Wednesday, I got bad again. Started feeling a ton more pain in my chest and it was not a good feeling clearly... I got really worried that day and gave a call to Sister Genaro and she told me Thursday morning to go back to the hospital. Yay.... haha.

Thursday, we went to the hospital and I sat down and was attended to right away this time. They looked over my exams again but this time found something different. They asked to have my tests ran again (blood, xray and heart metering) and then sat taking in over 5 different types of medications by I.V. It was not fun... but they found out what the problem was at least. I..... (drum roll please!) haha.... Cracked my rib. I have no idea how I did that or anything but they finally saw there was a part cracked. I freaked out when I heard that and had no idea how I would of or could have done that.

I was told to stay inside for at least 4 days (now 5 because of pday) to let the healing do its thing real fast. It will all be taken care of before i get home too they say. But I just am glad that it didn't break all the way, and so are they or they would have had to do a bunch of other stuff. They put me on a bunch of meds and gave me a diet to help the regrowth of my bones (explains the big purchases?) haha. I am feeling a lot better though as of right now and the pain is a lot less. I am just taking things easy and not doing things that I would have done before.

As of tomorrow will be a normal work day for me. I am excited to go out and work again cuz I HATE staying home but it was good to get a little rest and study a ton. I love you guys though and am getting more and more antsy to see you guys but also getting more and more worried about coming home. Got more time to work still!

Take care!

Hey Mom!

So sorry this letter is late. One, I wanted to play a joke on you that is semi true but didn't want to give you a heart attack. haha. I got in a car crash this week, and just got back from the hospital. Two truths, but don't worry, they have nothing to do with each other. haha. So first, the car crash. We were on the bus and I was sitting down with my back faced toward the middle of the bus, right next to Elder Doan. As we were sitting down just talking, we went to go through a stop light. There was a motorcycle riding really fast and I saw it coming. I think he thought he could pass by without the bus hitting him but boy was he wrong... he hit 2 yards away from where we were sitting. The sound was so loud, all the glass broke, and the guys head slammed right through the window. We all got off the bus then to  see what had happened with them. They were alive still luckily... but they slammed into the bus so hard. They were at least going 60mph when they hit but after we found out that they were drunk and that had caused the crash. We got lucky we didn't get hit in that moment because it was super close. All of us missionaries got off the bus fine without a scratch.

Then the hospital. Starting yesterday my chest started to hurt. Something was going on and it was hurting really bad. I did a bunch of exams and checkups and I am feeling a lot better and they pumped a lot of drugs into me with the I.V. All in all though I am feeling a lot better and am happy, but also lost a whole p-day... haha

This week was pretty simple yet again. We taught a lot of people and took some great people to church this week. We had our New Year's celebration with a family in our ward here. They are awesome people. I can also say that I made it to 2014 faster than you guys ;) haha. Our night was basically Pizza, Cake then until 3 in the morning there were fireworks blowing up every which way! haha. I didn't sleep that night. No one does in Brasil on New Years... Except the missionaries... haha. But it was a great night though.

I am really worn out today. I don't have pics for you guys this week cuz I left my camera at home because we haven't even had time to stop by the house yet. I promise I will send them all next week though.

But Happy New Year to everyone who is reading this! I am making lots of goals for this new year and hope that I can make them all into reality!
